The villagers's lifestyle are simple and contented. They undergo hardships but their lives are fulfilling.

They touch Earth and are embraced by the unspoilt natural beauties around their the islands where they live in.

It was enriching 6-day organised photography trip with my fellow friends from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. It was not just a normal holiday trip, this was the opportunity to meet and strengthen our friendships / bonds, even though we are from different counties.

For this unusual trip, we have a common goal. We exchanged photography skills, donating money to help build houses, and most importantly, we bring joys to the less fortunate children and residents in some remote islands. Teaching them drawing and using a camera. They have no opportunity to touch a camera or have their very own photo of themselves.

When they received their picutres, not only that they are overjoyed, their parents shared their happiness. It was a fulfilling trip and we intend to continue to support this yearly event.

This picture was taken in Shanghai, May 2006. I was walking down the memory lanes of Old Shanghai when this beautiful ray of light shone through. May this peaceful scene of Shanghai not be lost in the current days of rapid modernisation.

Bangalore, well-known for its rapid development in technology, is indeed a shopper's paradise! It has practically something for everybody :D
