Out-of-classroom lessons pique students' interest in Science

Applied Materials, Inc. renewed its S$37,000 sponsorship towards North East CDC’s Science Explorer Camp on 29 March 2014. The event also saw some 20 Applied Materials’ staff volunteers help out at the Camp, where 40 Damai Primary School students participated in hands-on activities, such as building a catapult from recycled materials and creating a smokeless stove out of twigs, leaves and rocks. The continued sponsorship is expected to benefit approximately 640 students in the district.
