Olivia Siong

Olivia reports on Chinese politics, foreign affairs, as well as social and economic issues shaping the country.

Her news coverage also extends to neighbouring North Korea. Olivia has been among a select group of journalists invited to report from Pyongyang, where she produced a documentary in 2018 on the country's historic 70th anniversary celebrations of its founding.

Prior to this posting, Olivia spent about 7 years reporting extensively on developments in Singapore, ranging from politics to housing and transport issues.

She also reported on some of the country's historic moments - including the week of national mourning following the death of Singapore's renowned founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, the 2015 General Elections and the 2017 Presidential Election.

Olivia graduated from the National University of Singapore's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with an Honours degree, majoring in Sociology and spent a semester in the University of California, Berkeley.
