Japan July crude import volume down 8.0%

TOKYO, Aug 21 : Japan's customs-cleared crude oil
imports fell 8.0 per cent in July from the same month a year
earlier, the Ministry of Finance said on Wednesday.
Japan, the world's fourth-biggest crude buyer, imported 2.1
million barrels per day (10.336 million kilolitres) of crude oil
last month, the preliminary data showed.
Japan's imports of liquefied natural gas totalled 5.621
million tonnes last month, up 10.4 per cent from a year earlier.
Imports of thermal coal for power generation increased by 10.9 per cent
in July to 9.585 million tonnes, the data showed.
