Harry Potter actress Emma Watson jokes about photo mix-up in reunion show
A photo of another actress – Emma Roberts – as a child was accidentally used and labelled as Watson during the recent TV special.

It appears Emma Watson is not at all upset about the photo mix-up in the recent Harry Potter TV special that aired on HBO on Jan 1.
In fact, she even poked fun at it herself on social media, days after it was pointed out that a photo of actress Emma Roberts as a child was used and mistakenly identified as Watson in the show, which commemorated the 20th anniversary of the first movie.
The 31-year-old actress reposted the “wrong” photo on Instagram on Wednesday (Jan 5) with the caption: “I was NOT this cute, @emmaroberts”.
Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the films, added a laughing face emoji and the hashtag #emmasistersforever.
The official HBO Max account also jumped on the bandwagon, commenting on Watson’s post with a Harry Potter reference: "Are we sure this wasn't the effect of a Polyjuice Potion?"
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts featured the stars of the franchise, including Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, as they reminisced about their time working on the films.
Eagle-eyed fans and members of the cast noticed that during the segment where Watson was talking about her childhood, a picture of Roberts was used instead.
Fans immediately took to Twitter to point out the error and HBO promptly rectified the mistakes, releasing an edited version faster than you can say “Wingardium Leviosa”.
"Well spotted Harry Potter fans! You brought an editing mistake of a mislabelled photograph to our attention. New version is up now,” the producers said.
Watson is also a vocal advocate for several causes, including women’s rights and climate change. Her recent social media post of a photo of a pro-Palestinian rally showing the words “Solidarity is a verb” angered several Israeli politicians, who accused her of being antisemitic.
However, her supporters have rallied around her. One such supporter, a UK politician, tweeted: "Showing solidarity with Palestinians is not antisemitism. These constant attempts to stifle any and all support for Palestinians must be called out."
