Their romance started after the hit drama series Crash Landing On You. Now, K-drama celebs Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin can look forward to a new bundle of joy landing in their lives.

The 40-year-old Son shared in an Instagram post on Monday (Jun 27) that she and her husband are expecting their first child.

In the caption accompanying a photo of wildflowers in the sunlight, she wrote: “Is everyone doing well? I’m doing well. Today, I’m carefully sharing some joyful news. (Hyun and I) have found a new life.

“Although I’m still in a daze, I can feel my body change every day with worry and excitement. I’m very thankful, but I’m just as careful, that I couldn't tell anyone around me yet. I’m sharing this information with the fans and acquaintances who’ve been looking forward to this news as much as we have before it’s too late.

“We’ll protect this valuable life that has come to us. I wish for all of you to protect the valuable things in your life that you need to protect and to stay healthy. I wish you happiness.”

Son and Hyun, 39, first met on the set of the 2018 thriller The Negotiation, where they played a crisis negotiator and hostage-taker, respectively.

However, they are best known as a pair for their run as South Korean heiress Yoon Se-ri and North Korean army captain Ri Jeong-hyeok in Crash Landing On You, which ran from 2019 to 2020.

The couple, whose onscreen romance set many hearts aflutter, announced last year that they had been dating since production on the popular drama series ended. They got married in a private ceremony earlier this year

Korean entertainment site Soompi reported that Son’s agency MSTeam Entertainment shut down rumours of her pregnancy late in May. Fans had started speculating that she was sporting a baby bump in a series of photos that she shared on Instagram.

Back then, the agency said, “If there is good news, we will be the first to officially inform you”.

Looks like Son has beaten them to it – we can't blame her, though. The mother-to-be's excitement is palpable enough for us to feel it from here.
