Sumisha Naidu is Channel NewsAsia's Malaysia Correspondent, covering issues ranging from politics to business to human interest stories.

Within five years of her journalism career, Sumisha was assigned to cover major events in Malaysia and its neighbouring countries such as the 2013 general elections, 2014's three aviation tragedies (the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines' Flight MH370, the downing of flight MH17 and AirAsia's QZ8501 crash), US President Barack Obama's historic trip to Malaysia, the ASEAN Summits in 2015, the floods that displaced thousands in the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia in 2014 and more. In 2015, she was a finalist for Young Journalist of the Year at the Mediacorp News Awards.

Prior to joining Channel NewsAsia, she was a journalist with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Asia Pacific News Centre in Melbourne, Australia, and a reporter and presenter for Malaysian online news site, KiniTV.

Sumisha has a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) from the University of Melbourne and graduated with distinction with a Master of Communications (Journalism) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).
