Gerardine Tan

Gerardine presents News Now on Channel NewsAsia.

She took the lead in the station’s coverage of breaking news events like the discovery of debris from Malaysian Airlines 370 on Reunion Island in 2015 and the Sydney café siege in 2014.

Gerardine’s media career started in 1993, when she joined Singapore Broadcasting Corporation – which has now become CNA – as a radio Producer-Presenter. Over the years, she hosted various shows including current affairs features, talkback programmes and medical talk-shows. One memorable assignment was to present the “live” radio commentary for Singapore’s biggest party of the year – the National Day Parade.

Given her experience and know-how, Gerardine was a key player in Singapore’s first local English news and information station 938LIVE (re-branded 938NOW). She was also a committee member of the Speak Good English Movement committee for more than six years.

As a mother of four, Gerardine is constantly looking for avenues to keep her brood entertained.

Gerardine graduated with a Bachelor (Hons) in Accountancy from London Guildhall University. As part of the course, she had the opportunity to learn basic French, German and Spanish.
