Holland Village’s quaint shophouses and laidback atmosphere have always set the neighbourhood apart, making it one of Singapore’s chicest quarters and a favourite weekend destination.

Strolling around the area will show just how diverse it is, with trendy tenants like homegrown eateries Sunday Folks and Full of Luck just minutes away from traditional Asian dining spots like the famed Katong Laksa franchise. Local lifestyle labels such as Our Second Nature and Bynd Artisan add to the unique vibe of Holland Village.

The neighbourhood is about to become even more hip, with the launch of One Holland Village. In addition to a District 10 address, the two-hectare mixed-use development will offer dedicated spaces for retail, F&B and offices, as well as a residential component named One Holland Village Residences.

Similar to the likes of London’s Shoreditch and New York’s Brooklyn districts where homes, architecture, art and food co-exist harmoniously, One Holland Village is set to encapsulate the already eclectic charm of Holland Village.

To stay true to the area’s character, parts of One Holland Village are designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. The shops and offices are located in the same area, creating a vibrant atmosphere, while residences are nestled in a quieter stretch for privacy.

NEIGHBOURHOOD CHARM

Just a three-minute walk from the Holland Village MRT Station that sits on the Circle Line, the shops are housed in low-rise structures and consist of four communal spaces, each echoing the bohemian essence and meandering streets of Holland Village, but with more to do and see.

Visitors and residents alike can start weekend mornings at The Village Square to indulge in retail therapy from a mix of indie boutiques and outdoor markets. Next, re-energise with some grub at Village Green. Sashimi or a hearty steak? Take your pick from the range of cafes and gourmet restaurants here, including Japanese restaurant and bar Kinki as well as the steakhouse Bedrock Bar & Grill.

Existing Holland Village retailers such as Cold Storage and Guardian Pharmacy will also be moving to One Holland Village, catering to residents’ daily needs.

With independent cinema The Projector – best known for screening cult classics and foreign flicks – and the not-for-profit arts and theatre organisation The RICE Company slated to join the tenant list, the area looks likely to offer a slew of entertainment choices.

All of One Holland Village’s communal spaces — which includes 13,500sqm of new retail space — will be connected via linkages and walkways, making it easier for visitors to navigate the spacious development.

Mr Marc Boey, director of planning and acquisitions at Far East Organization, said: “It is important for us to actively engage business owners and the community to better understand their needs and work together to develop an attractive neighbourhood. In addition, we have committed S$20m to beautify One Holland Village through public art.”

WORKSPACE AND MORE

The development’s one-of-a-kind architecture and picturesque backdrop create a collaborative atmosphere, which could attract like-minded businesses to choose One Holland Village Offices. Businesses will enjoy the amenities at surrounding shops, facilities like the Meeting Pods, as well as the Village Deck’s pavilions and other areas where they can host informal meetings and branding events.

Ease of travel is another plus for the development. One Holland Village is a five-minute drive to One-North, home to business hubs like Fusionopolis and Biopolis, and a 17-minute drive to Marina Bay, Singapore’s financial heart.

This diverse and convenient landscape spells a great opportunity for those looking to own property in One Holland Village Residences – investors could lease units to those working nearby.

One Holland Village’s diversity is also evident in the types of homes offered. One Holland Village Residences features 296 units in three distinct apartment types: Leven, Sereen and Quincy Private Residences.

Leven offers a balance between nostalgia and modernity. This series of low-rise three-storey buildings – inspired by older housing like shophouses and the Tiong Bahru walk-ups – even bear similar iconic spiral staircases.

Units on Level 1 have direct access to the lush greenery of a lawn, while units on Level 2 feature private balconies. Units on Level 3 are privy to the spiral staircases, which residents can use to walk up to the breezy rooftop terrace for a nightcap. These 21, two-bedder units that make up Leven measure from 807sqf.

The Sereen apartments, designed for a slower pace of living and being in touch with nature, pay homage to the neighbourhood’s laidback atmosphere. There are spacious balconies, too, to be used for yoga, dining under the stars or simply hanging out.

The apartments are located in the 34-storey Sereen tower and available in one- to three-bedroom configurations from 484sqf to 1,098sqf. The units overlook the precinct’s verdant trees, with many having unblocked views of Good Class Bungalows or shophouses.
