Indonesia’s peatland restoration keeps forest fires in check | Video(Updated: )
Indonesia's efforts to restore degraded peatland destroyed by the massive forest fires in 2015 have helped prevent a worse episode this year. The Peatland Restoration Agency said there were fewer hotspots in the 678,000 hectares of peatland it has restored over a period of more than three years. The agency's head Nazir Foead tells Saifulbahri Ismail why forest fires are still occurring in restored peatland.
