Glenda Chong currently anchors Primetime World and is the co-host of Primetime Asia. An award-winning presenter, Glenda returned to Singapore in March 2011 after serving as China Correspondent for 3 years in Shanghai.
Highlights of her work include reporting on the 2008 Beijing Olympics, covering the devastating aftermath of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
Before her posting in China, Glenda presented Channel NewsAsia’s main news programmes, fronting major breaking stories, including the 2007 Thai coup, the 2004 Asian tsunami, and 2003 SARS outbreak in Singapore. It was a memorable year in 2004 when she anchored the coverage of the results for the American and Taiwan Presidential elections, and the Malaysian election. In addition, she headed to Jakarta to report and anchor the bulletin during the Indonesian Presidential election.
Glenda was named Best News Anchor at the Asian Television Awards in 2001. She was also awarded Best Presenter at Mediacorp’s Annual Excellence Awards in 2005. Glenda graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism and holds a Masters of International Studies from the National University of Singapore.
She is conversant in Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu, and enjoys, travelling, golf and diving.

Steve Lai currently fronts Primetime Asia and the Friday edition of Between The Lines.
Steve Lai currently presents Primetime Asia and World Tonight. His assignments prior to this includes hosting the channel's morning show, First Look Asia, the midday one-hour news programme, Asia Connect, as well as the current affairs analysis programme, Between The Lines.
Steve also presented the channel’s extensive coverage of the Taiwan Elections in 2016; hosting coverage of Myanmar's 2015 Elections out of Yangon; and was an onsite reporter for the 2015 SEA Games.
Before joining Channel NewsAsia in March 2012, Steve fronted SportCenter Asia at ESPN Star Sports and worked as a broadcast journalist for the 24hr channel ESPNews. He started his career in broadcasting in 2009 at Radio Television Brunei.
He has also worked as a pundit for Astro's (Malaysia) coverage of the 2011 edition of the Rugby World Cup in his capacity as the former Captain of the Brunei National Rugby team.
