Foodies, looking for a new restaurant to check out? Here’s one that has gotten the stamp of approval from a host of local celebrities.

Clan 7 Chinese Restaurant is conceptualised as a “dining destination where diners gather to celebrate their kinship and love for exceptional cuisine”. The restaurant is helmed by executive chef Dee Chan, who, at 32 years old, is one of the youngest executive chefs in Chinese cuisine in Singapore.

The menu showcases Chan’s flair for modern Chinese cuisine through innovative renditions of traditional classics. The restaurant opened its doors in May, but due to Phase 2 (HA) restrictions, only takeaways and deliveries were allowed.

During this time, local celebrities like Zoe Tay, Ben Yeo, Pan Ling Ling and Xiang Yun showed their support for the restaurant by ordering takeaway meals from the restaurant, as captured on both the chef’s and the restaurant’s Instagram account.

Responding to queries from CNA Luxury, the restaurant's publicist shared that it is not known what Zoe Tay ordered, but noted that she has been a longtime supporter of Chan.

Xiang Yun, on the other hand, wrote on her Instagram account: “Because of the pandemic, I can only order online or call, and cannot go to the restaurant to eat. Chef Dee still did not disappoint us and delivered [the food] in person. My husband and son ate and praised the delicious food.”

Now that Phase 3 (HA) is here, dining-in at Clan 7 has since resumed for patrons to enjoy the full experience.

The menu features dishes such as Sichuan-style marinated chicken, smoked fish fillet, fish otah and fish skin in cone. Also on the menu are Cantonese roasts such as barbecue glazed char siew, roasted pork belly, Chinese roast platter and roasted duck served with strawberry marmalade.
