What makes tempered glass doors or cookware shatter?(Updated: )
Tempered glass is used everywhere from screen protectors for phones to cookware, oven doors, kitchen hobs, and shower panels. At least 530 glass panels were reported to have suddenly shattered over the past 10 years. This happens because an impurity - nickel sulphide - in tempered glass, and micro-cracks or chips that may come about with improper handling.
