From Singapore actor Aloysius Pang who died in a tragic accident in January to the man who brought Big Bird to life who left us in early December, we have lost many talents in the fields of fashion, food, sports, entertainment and literature in 2019.

A look back at the celebrities and personalities we lost in 2019.

It was an especially tough year for K-pop. Two stars – Goo Hara and Sulli – died by suicide within weeks of each other.

More recently, those of us who grew up listening to It Must Have Been Love, Joyride and other Roxette hits, said goodbye to singer Marie Fredriksson.
