Prince William has been secretly volunteering with a crisis help line in the UK that provides mental health support for those dealing with a range of issues such as self-harm, abuse, bullying and suicidal thoughts. It’s the UK’s first 24/7 crisis text line.

His involvement with Shout was recently confirmed in an Instagram post on the Kensington Palace account, which is the official page for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

In a video post, the Duke and his wife, Kate, spoke to other volunteers and he revealed: “I’m going to share a little secret with you guys but I’m actually on the platform volunteering.”

Shout commented on the post: “Thank you for your support.”

The Duke of Cambridge is one of more than 2,000 volunteers who man the service, which he co-launched in May 2019 together with his wife, Kate; his brother, Prince Harry; and Harry’s wife, Meghan.

During William’s visit to the charity in November that year, he said that he wanted to become a volunteer for the service and it appears he has made good on that promise.

The Duke and Duchess are passing on the spirit of volunteering to their kids, too. In April, the family, including Prince George and Princess Charlotte, helped to pack and deliver food parcels to isolated pensioners in the area near Sandringham Estate.
