At a time when everyone is busily stocking up on exercise equipment, games and toys to keep the little ones occupied, and food (even though there’s no need to) before the circuit breaker measures kick in on Tuesday (Apr 7), Mediacorp artiste Rebecca Lim was also seen out and about.
But the actress wasn’t buying up a store to hunker down with. Instead, she was seen in different locations across the island on Instagram on Apr 4.
Togged in cream overalls, her hair nonchalantly pulled into a ponytail and a mask covering half of her face, not many people would have recognised her as she went about leaving bags of necessities outside families’ doors.
Lim also handed out care packs to taxi drivers, cleaners, construction workers and those who are working to keep Singapore going, including the elderly.
“I hope you spread love and choose kindness. We will get there. #SGcares #SGUnited,” wrote the actress on her post.
How many care packs did Lim help to give out? “We have been greatly blessed by our sponsors in preparing 400 care packs for the elderly and frontline heroes in essential services,” she wrote in an earlier Instagram post.
The actress said that “generous giving” is the “most humbling and heartwarming”.
“Every simple act counts. Do not despise the little things! I believe that #sgcares and we are #sgunited”
