Want to cook your own plant-based Impossible Burger at home? Now you can

Singapore customers can now pick up Impossible Burger bricks at selected Singapore restaurants through an initiative that's meant to give restaurants an additional source of revenue and to reduce perishable inventory during any short-term closures.

Impossible Foods have collaborated with Singapore F&B partners, allowing them to resell their inventory of Impossible Burger bricks directly to interested customers.

What this means is that, for a limited time, Singapore customers can pick up 2.27 kg packs of Impossible Burger at selected restaurants, in order to cook the plant-based patties at home.

This initiative is a first in Asia and follows a similarly successful programme in the US, where the company teamed up with Gelson’s Markets to sell its signature product in grocery stores.

The move is in support of Singapore restaurants and distributors to provide them with an additional source of revenue, and to reduce perishable inventory during any short-term closures.

Impossible Foods also said that they will be using this as a way to gauge local interest in cooking Impossible at home, as they are looking for a retail launch in the region.

“The COVID-19 crisis has been incredibly challenging for Singapore’s F&B industry and our partners with many having to adapt their business model to prioritise takeout and delivery,” said Nick Halla, Senior Vice President of International at Impossible Foods.

The Impossible Burger bricks can now be purchased at the following places:

Rubato Italian Kitchen & Bar – available for purchase in-store
