Amrin Amin on keeping prisons free of COVID-19(Updated: )
Singapore’s prisons have remained free of COVID-19 infections. The Prison Service has put in place precautionary measures. It monitors the health of staff and inmates. New inmates are housed separately and monitored for 14 days. Frontline staff wear personal protective equipment when interacting with new inmates and COVID-19 suspect cases. From Apr 7 to May 4, the prisons will suspend programmes involving external partners, as well as family visits. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs Amrin Amin outlined these measures in reply to a Parliamentary question on Monday (Apr 6).
