Douglas Foo on COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Bill(Updated: )
Assessors for contractual disputes will have to be carefully selected and must avoid conflicts of interest, said NMP Douglas Foo in Parliament on Tuesday (Apr 7), during the debate on the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Bill. He said this is especially so given the sheer number of SMEs in Singapore - nearly 200,000 - and the corresponding volume of contracts signed. He also asked if the assessors will be covered by indemnity insurance. Mr Foo also called on businesses to adopt digital solutions that will provide long-term value after the crisis is over.
