Ministerial statement: Heng Swee Keat on S$5.1b COVID-19 Solidarity Budget

(Updated: )

Singapore has unveiled an additional S$5.1 billion in support for companies, workers and households to fight the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat gave details of the Solidarity Budget in Parliament on Monday (Apr 6). It comes ahead of a month-long "circuit breaker" period, when non-essential businesses and schools will be closed to try to curb fresh COVID-19 infections. The latest Budget builds on two earlier packages, taking the total amount of support to almost S$60 billion.
