Ong Ye Kung on subsidised school meals during full home-based learning(Updated: )
Students will not be able to benefit from the School Meals Programme when they are on full home-based learning. The programme is only for meals purchased from the school canteen. But the Ministry of Education will work with the Ministry of Social and Family Development to provide financial and other support for families of students who are on the programme. Education Minister Ong Ye Kung said this in reply to Parliamentary questions on Monday (Apr 6). In 2019, about 49,000 primary and secondary school students on the Financial Assistance Scheme benefited from the meals programme.
