Budget 2021 debate: Yip Hon Weng on mindset change for 'truly senior-conducive workplaces'

Employers who have concerns about hiring seniors can try to redesign their jobs and workplaces. Seniors must be optimistic and believe in themselves at work. Both sides need to change their mindset to create "truly senior-conducive workplaces", said MP Yip Hon Weng in Parliament on Thursday (Feb 25). He said one area that seniors can explore is in micro jobs. They can care for other older and more frail seniors, or work as medical escorts and handymen. The Government can promote such jobs with integrated search and listing platforms, as well as training and accreditation, he said.
