Desmond Tan on countering radicalisation(Updated: )
A self-radicalised 16-year-old Singaporean who was recently arrested for planning to attack two mosques will undergo holistic rehabilitation such as religious and psychological counselling, Minister of State for Home Affairs Desmond Tan told Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 16). The aim is to correct the boy's radical ideology and address his propensity for violence. In response to MPs’ questions, Mr Tan also detailed outreach efforts in schools to tackle radicalisation, such as age-appropriate SGSecure content in school activities, and how Singapore has been beefing up its laws against terrorism.
