Gan Siow Huang on entry of foreign domestic workers(Updated: )
From April 2020 to January 2021, the Manpower Ministry approved about 25,000 requests for foreign domestic workers (FDWs) to enter Singapore. Around 600 Singaporeans and PRs whose initial applications were not granted submitted appeals and about 500 of them were successful. Around 13 per cent of those approved also successfully applied to waive the cost of their FDWs’ Stay-Home Notice at dedicated facilities. Minister of State for Manpower Gan Siow Huang said this in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 16) in response to an MP's questions.
