Janil Puthucheary on sound public debate for online publications(Updated: )
Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information Janil Puthucheary said that online publications should not use pseudonyms to hide behind the veil of anonymity. Neither should they publish unverified facts or misleading statements. Such acts are not in the best interest of sound public debate. He made these points in Parliament on Monday (Feb 4) in reply to a question on why the Government publicly disclosed the identity and personal details of a complainant who had sought to withdraw her CPF savings on medical grounds.
