From Apr 1 last year to Jan 31 this year, there were about 18,600 applications for foreign family members of Singapore citizens and PRs to enter Singapore and 97 per cent were approved. Those rejected were mostly unable to prove their ties. Minister of State for Home Affairs Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim gave this update in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 16) in reply to an MP's questions. There were also 371 appeals to waive the costs of Stay-Home Notice stays or COVID-19 swab tests, of which about 60 per cent were successful, said Dr Faishal.
