Yee Chia Hsing on National Parks Board (Amendment) Bill(Updated: )
MP Yee Chia Hsing spoke on the National Parks Board (Amendment) Bill in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 12). He asked for more regulations against irresponsible HDB pet owners who keep their cats in unhygienic conditions. Specifically, Mr Yee proposed broadening NParks' powers to include removing animals when they cause severe public disamenities, including the stench suffered by neighbours. He pointed out that current rules only allow the removal of animals if they are found to be mistreated or in poor health.
