Chee Hong Tat on Multimodal Transport Bill

(Updated: )

In Parliament on Tuesday (Jan 5), a Bill was put up for debate ahead of Singapore ratifying an ASEAN agreement this year that will enhance regional connectivity and facilitate free movement of goods, services and investment. The agreement will create a unified framework for transport of goods by more than one mode, whether air, land or sea. Senior Minister of State for Transport Chee Hong Tat outlined provisions in the Bill, covering establishment of a common registry of transport operators as well as common frameworks for documentation, operators’ liabilities and consignors’ responsibilities.
