As digital payments become a way of life in Singapore, it is crucial for the country's regulatory frameworks to continue to keep pace with the behaviours of market participants, said MP Derrick Goh. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Jan 4) on the Payment Services (Amendment) Bill, he said this will help to ensure minimum standards of technology, cybersecurity and data safeguards. It will also enable Singapore to take a leadership position in the world. He said Singapore should move boldly but skillfully to manage risks.
