Joan Pereira on Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Bill(Updated: )
During the debate on the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Bill in Parliament on Tuesday (Jan 5), MP Joan Pereira asked how the police will spot gun or weapon parts that are deceptively labelled and imported into Singapore. She asked if a guide is being drawn up to help officers keep a lookout for items that could be used to assemble illegal firearms. Ms Pereira also asked for more details on how authorities intend to regulate 3D printers to prevent them from being misused to manufacture guns, while not stifling innovation for other engineering purposes.
