Amy Khor on future-proofing markets and hawker centres against public health threats(Updated: )
The National Environment Agency (NEA) will continue to future-proof markets and hawker centres to better deal with challenges and public health threats such as COVID-19. Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Amy Khor said this in Parliament on Tuesday (Jul 6) in reply to an MP's question. She said NEA will push on with programmes to ensure a clean and safe environment and to reduce crowding. It is also working with stallholders and patrons to share the responsibility of maintaining cleanliness. These include the Clean Tables Campaign and tray-return programme.
