Debate on ‘Education for our future’ wraps up(Updated: )
NMP Mahdev Mohan wrapped up the debate on “Education for our future” in Parliament on Wednesday (Jul 11). He said it is clear - and refreshing - that the Government has heard the points made and acknowledges that the system is not perfect. He said everyone recognises that students are stressed, and the key is how to alleviate this without sacrificing excellence and meritocracy. NMP Kok Heng Leun then made follow-up points on PSLE and the hazards of “purposeful play”, which were addressed by Second Minister for Education Indranee Rajah. The motion was passed.
