Heng Swee Keat on Fortitude Budget

(Updated: )

Singapore may take years to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 crisis and must prevent a “COVID generation” of workers and students whose skills, employability and incomes are permanently affected. In the debate on the Fortitude Budget in Parliament on Friday (Jun 5), Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat said the Government is making an unprecedented effort to save jobs in viable businesses, open pathways to new jobs and new skills, and help locals access them. He said Singapore must make the best use of financial resources being poured into its pandemic response.
