Koh Poh Koon on Fortitude Budget

(Updated: )

Companies facing cashflow problems may be reluctant to send workers for training amid the COVID-19 crisis. So NTUC is raising its funding cap for a training support scheme and launching a version of the scheme for non-unionised firms with at least 50 union members. NTUC Deputy Secretary-General Koh Poh Koon revealed this in Parliament on Thursday (Jun 4) during the debate on the Fortitude Budget. Dr Koh also said the labour movement hopes the new National Jobs Council will work with the NTUC Job Security Council, set up in February, to pre-emptively match at-risk workers with available jobs.
