Tin Pei Ling on Fortitude Budget(Updated: )
Businesses appreciate loan deferments available to help them get through the COVID-19 crisis, but they still face challenges, such as deferment interest amounting to more than the cash assistance they can get. Citing such a case, MP Tin Pei Ling asked if businesses could be offered a 0.1 per cent low interest rate for existing business loans during the deferment period. During the debate on the Fortitude Budget in Parliament on Thursday (Jun 4), she also suggested a "digital conversion bonus" for seniors - such as an e-wallet containing vouchers - to incentivise them to go digital.
