About half of some 30,000 migrant workers infected with COVID-19 who are residing in dormitories have recovered, as at the end of May. For the remaining half, the vast majority of workers are recovering well, with one requiring intensive hospital care. Minister of State for Manpower Zaqy Mohamad gave this update in Parliament on Thursday (Jun 4), in reply to Parliamentary questions. He said that in the medium term, the Government will continue to build more temporary housing, with sufficient sick bays and isolation rooms for those who are sick or infected.
