Anthea Ong and Amy Khor on 'zero-suicide' Singapore(Updated: )
The Government should lead and coordinate efforts for a “zero-suicide” Singapore. NMP Anthea Ong made the call in an adjournment motion in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 25). She suggested a national suicide prevention strategy. She said such a strategy will signal a clear commitment to tackle suicide and to step in to help. In response, Senior Minister of State for Health Amy Khor said the Government will continue to strengthen its efforts to prevent suicide. It will build mental resilience, identify and encourage people to seek help, support at-risk groups, as well as provide crisis support.
