Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 2: Joan Pereira on keeping NSmen fighting fit

In Parliament on Monday (Mar 1), MP Joan Pereira asked what healthcare measures and assistance schemes are in place to keep Singapore’s troops healthy and combat-fit. Noting the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, she asked how the Ministry of Defence is ensuring that training venues, equipment and slots are still accessible to servicemen, and whether help is given to lower-income servicemen who might be hit by food insecurity. Ms Pereira also asked how effective the PREP4NS initiative has been in helping pre-enlistees become more physically fit.
