Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 5: Ong Ye Kung on 'EV-ready' HDB towns

23:24 Min
All Housing and Development Board (HDB) car parks in at least eight towns will have electric vehicle (EV) charging points by 2025. They are part of a "town-centric" approach to make every HDB town an "EV-ready town", said Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 4). For the national public charging standards, Mr Ong said Singapore has settled on Type 2 for AC charging and CCS 2 for DC or fast charging. With a range of about 400km to 500km per charge, a typical EV user would need to charge about once every five days.
