In Parliament on Friday (Mar 5), Minister of State for Social and Family Development Sun Xueling said that Government-paid paternity and adoption benefit schemes will be rolled out later this year. In response to questions posed by MPs, she gave the assurance that support for families undergoing divorce will be stepped up and that there will be a greater burden of accountability placed on perpetrators of family violence. She also said that the plan to have 200,000 pre-school places by 2023 is on track.
