Speed cameras are installed based on locations, frequency of incidents of speeding and the suitability of the terrain. Minister of State for Home Affairs Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim said this in reply to an MP's questions in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). He said the Traffic Police (TP) does not choose its locations based on whether speeding incidents occur at night or in the day. Besides speed cameras, TP officers also conduct anti-speed operations. TP works closely with the Land Transport Authority on the installation of speed-regulating measures such as road humps and speed-regulating strips.
