Desmond Lee on immediate interim assistance for households during COVID-19 pandemic(Updated: )
Social Service Offices (SSOs) have been flexible in providing immediate interim assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. In April this year, they approved 125 applications for ComCare Interim Assistance. Since April, they have been providing at least six months of assistance to new recipients of ComCare Short-to-Medium-Term Assistance. They approved 1,441 applications. Social and Family Development Minister Desmond Lee gave this update on Tuesday (May 5), in reply to Parliamentary questions. He said ComCare support will be extended for six months for existing applicants or beneficiaries.
