Nearly S$1 billion in cash support will be given by end-May to self-employed persons hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and more than 16,000 job vacancies are available through SGUnited Jobs. Manpower Minister Josephine Teo gave these updates in Parliament on Monday (May 4). On the outbreak among migrant workers, she said the next phase will be to get the recovery right by cutting the risks of recurrent transmission, ensuring workers can safely return to work and developing new strategies to monitor their health. She said authorities will look into improving standards at older dormitories.
