Ong Ye Kung on e-interviews, e-auditions for Direct School Admission during COVID-19 pandemic(Updated: )
This year’s Direct School Admission exercise will go ahead, said Education Minister Ong Ye Kung. Responding to an MP's question in Parliament on Tuesday (May 5), he said MOE will do its best to maintain the same number of about 3,500 placements. But the evaluation methods will change due to safe distancing measures. Schools will conduct interviews using video conferencing tools. Students have to go to their primary school for the e-interviews. In the absence of selection trials and the National School Games, Mr Ong said schools have to “dig deeper” for talent, potential, passion and character.
