Sylvia Lim on Vulnerable Adults Bill(Updated: )
MP Sylvia Lim spoke on the Vulnerable Adults Bill in Parliament on Friday (May 18). She raised several concerns, including how work will be divided between the Social and Family Development Ministry and the Office of the Public Guardian. She was also concerned about possible Government overreach causing vulnerable adults to be unnecessarily institutionalised, and whether the definitions of abuse, neglect and self-neglect might inadvertently discriminate against the poor.
