Denise Phua on Employment (Amendment) Bill(Updated: )
MP Denise Phua spoke during the debate on the Employment (Amendment) Bill in Parliament on Tuesday (Nov 20). She said the Bill does not go far enough in taking into consideration the nature of the emerging workforce in the new economy, or incorporate aspirations for a more inclusive workforce. Ms Phua urged the Manpower Ministry to better support five groups of employees - those in the gig economy, those working in outsourced functions, baby-boomer seniors, low-skilled elderly workers and employees with disabilities.
