Dennis Tan on reviewing Singapore's justice system(Updated: )
Having a dedicated judicial service set apart from the rest of the legal service would prevent inter-service postings or rotation and provide more distance between prosecutors and those working as magistrates and judges, said MP Dennis Tan in Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 4). Speaking during the debate on a motion filed by the Workers’ Party, Mr Tan also suggested stipulating higher minimum seniority requirements for judicial officers, especially those handling criminal cases as magistrates and district judges.
