Tackle the upstream problems which severely hamper the bargaining power of migrant workers and make them unwilling to report abuse. Provide support services to all workers who choose to make complaints against employers and find themselves without a home and a job. MP Gerald Giam made these suggestions in Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 4) to address the "steep power imbalances" migrant workers face when dealing with employers and Government authorities. He also asked for an update on efforts to improve court processes involving the abuse of migrant workers.
