Debate on strategy to emerge stronger from COVID-19: Indranee Rajah on extension of Baby Support Grant(Updated: )
The S$3,000 Baby Support Grant will be extended to parents whose babies had a certified estimated delivery date on or after 1 October 2020 but were born prematurely. Announcing this in Parliament on Thursday (Oct 15), Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Indranee Rajah explained that several start dates were considered and while the Government’s fiscal position was tight due to COVID-19 support measures, it was able to set aside some budget this year to start the support scheme as soon as possible - namely, effective from the month of announcement.
