Heng Swee Keat rounds up debate on strategy to emerge stronger from COVID-19(Updated: )
The Government will move towards more targeted support for companies and workers as it looks to rejuvenate Singapore’s economy in a post-COVID landscape, said Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat in Parliament on Thursday (Oct 15). There will also be more focus on job creation. Mr Heng said the Government is carefully studying when to increase the Goods and Services Tax and will consider how quickly the economy recovers, the revenue outlook and how much spending can be deferred without jeopardising Singapore’s long-term needs.
